About me
Abby Bell is Director of Academic Operations at Lipscomb University, where she has spent three years transforming academic operations through AI implementation and instructional innovation. With over a decade in education, including seven years as an international teacher and vice principal, Bell brings a practitioner's perspective to AI in higher education.Since 2022, Abby has led initiatives that have resulted in over 117 automated workflows across campus, reducing administrative burden by up to 85 percent and freeing educators to focus on teaching. She pioneered the use of Jotform's AI Presentation Agent to facilitate adaptive knowledge checks for 753 freshmen and is now using Presentation Agents to flip her classroom. This demonstrates how AI can function as an intelligent tutor that scaffolds learning based on individual needs and adapts in real-time.Abby's research on the AI adoption gap reveals critical insights into the change management processes universities must embrace as they help faculty and students navigate AI as a future reality. She trains faculty and staff throughout the university, empowering educators to design their own AI-enhanced learning solutions. This has positioned Lipscomb as a leader in educational technology. Currently pursuing a doctorate in Leadership and Innovation, Abby's research focuses on how institutions can adopt emerging technologies while maintaining human-centered teaching. With a Master's in Conflict Management, she understands that successful innovation requires stakeholder engagement and addressing faculty and student concerns about technological change. Abby loves to talk about how AI can amplify teaching effectiveness and support educators.
