About me
Marlena Carrillo is the Coordinator for Digital Initiatives at the University of South Florida Libraries, where she oversees the user experiences for more than 190,000 digital collections items. Marlena earned her MLIS from USF in 2024 and a degree in journalism from the University of Florida in 2022. With a background in award-winning reporting, Marlena brings a narrative-driven approach to digital content, leveraging multimedia, GIS mapping, and editorial strategy to enrich digital collections and increase public engagement.
